Who we are

What we collect

When you submit the quote or contact form, we collect:

• Your name, and the phone number and/or email address you provide
• The project location, service and timeframe you tell us about
• The message and any photos you choose to attach
• Your consent choices, including any marketing opt-in
• Limited technical information used only for security: your browser's user agent, the page you submitted from, and a one-way hashed version of your IP address

We do not ask for financial details, government identifiers or sensitive personal information through this website. Please do not send them to us in a form.

Why we collect it

• To respond to your enquiry and discuss, quote and carry out work
• To keep records of the enquiries we receive
• To protect the forms from spam and abuse (this is why we hash IP addresses)
• To send you occasional marketing emails — only if you separately opted in to that

Consent and CASL

Submitting a form is your express consent for us to reply to that enquiry. Marketing email is a separate, optional, unticked opt-in. Every marketing email we send will identify Castle Build, include our contact information and offer a working unsubscribe. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying to any email or writing to castlebuildcarpentry@gmail.com.

How your information is stored

Form submissions are stored in a secured, access-controlled database. Photos you attach are stored in a private storage bucket that is not publicly readable. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. Our hosting and database providers may store this data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers who host this website and its database, and only so those services can function, or where we are required to by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond, complete any resulting work and meet our record-keeping obligations. You can ask us to delete an enquiry at any time and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent. Email castlebuildcarpentry@gmail.com and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This website is intended for adults arranging work on a property. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
